The Czech Republic
with a total area of 79.000 square kilometres and about 10.230.000 inhabitants is a medium size Europien country, from the reason of location approximately in the middle of Europien Continent called The Heart of Europe. The country comprises three historical lands – Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Administratively the Czech Republic is devided into 14 regions, one of those being the capital of Prague.
The Czech land have a rich and fully history. The Czech state was formed in the late 9th entury. People came here from all corners of the world to cultivate our country. So there are 6 Unesco biosphere reservations
and 12 of our historical sites have been entered in the Unesco list of World Heritage
. Prague is situated in the very heart of Europe, on a place that has been an intersection of continental merchant routes since time immemorial. It was the seat of Czech princes and kings from the 10th century. In the mid 14th century, Prague was the centre of the Holy Roman Empire and Europe's third largest city in terms of population. During the 19 th century Prague was developing as an important centre where Czech, German and Jewish cultures met and mingled. Following the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1918, Prague became the metropolis of the new country.
Currently, Prague is a large city of more than one million people, spreading over almost 500 square kilometres. Following the social and economic changes in 1989, Prague enhanced its historically strong ties with other cities in Central Europe with a pluralist multi-party parliamentary representative democracy, the seat of most important social, cultural and educational institutions. The city is the real and only one entrance gate to the Czech Republic. Then welcome here!
